In John 14 and verse 6, Jesus makes one of the most comprehensive statements in the Bible about who He really is. He is just in the process of announcing to His disciples that He must leave them. He is about to go to the cross and give His life for them (a fact that He has repeatedly told them, but they haven’t understood yet) and then He will leave another Helper, or Comforter to come alongside them in the work of building His church.
