Ezra – Ezra 8:21 - ‘There, by the Ahava Canal, I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions.’
So often we find in the Bible that the greatest answers to prayer are born out of situations where men and women have no other way out other than to cry out to God. In John chapter 17 we have an incredible window into the interaction of Jesus, the Son of God dwelling in a body, with His Father in heaven. There is so much truth in the chapter that we could chew on for hours, but there are also very specific things that Jesus asks for, and the incredible thing is that He is not just praying for the disciples He sees in front of Him, but He is praying for all who will believe in the future.
